Before I joined Herbalife I had been working as a
carpenter for over 10 years. I had been looking for the job
within the industry that was going to pay me the best wages
and give me a good lifestyle. I was still living my parents in
a run down farm cottage and driving a cheap car that I tried
to make look expensive. I couldn’t afford the local property
and didn’t want to spend the little I did have on a car I
couldn’t afford to run. Unfortunately, what paid the best was
working abroad and although at first it was exciting and
different it soon became just a way of life. After 5 years I’d
had enough of living out of a hotel, not seeing my friends and
family and having money but no life. Even with the good income
I still seemed to be broke at the end of the month because I
spent the money to relieve the boredom when I wasn’t
working.
I
decided to come back to working in the UK and look for
something else, but to keep up my income I had to work as a
shop fitter 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week. This didn’t give
me a lot of time to do anything else so my life hadn’t really
changed and even if I did find the time I didn’t have the
energy. During this time I looked at anything that resembled a
way out of what I was doing because I knew that is was not
going to get me what I wanted even if I worked at it for the
rest of my life. But nothing felt or seemed right; I even
tried a couple of business ideas but didn’t find much support
or information available to take them further.
Then I got a mailing through the post, which looked and
sounded very different, it even had a normal UK landline
number on the back to call for further information so I did.
After speaking to a lady and reviewing some information I
decided to take up the offer of a training/information day,
which was at a hotel some 3 hours away but I wanted to see the
business for myself. Although it cost £42 I thought it was
worth paying to get what sounded like a comprehensive days
training on the business with meals included.
The day was just what I needed with lots of training
and information on the business and more than enough for me to
know that I could do this business part time and build it up
as I went along with the training and support being offered. I
went straight to work and set up a corner of my bedroom as an
office and started building my business working it around my
long hours of carpentry.
Since joining Herbalife I have been able to get back
the vitality and physique through using the products I had
when I was in my late teens. I have been able move into a
gorgeous country cottage in the “Constable countryside” and
buy not only a car but a new motorbike which I get to ride
whenever I like because I get to work the hours that suit me
and have control of my life. I was able to earn money from my
first month in the business, develop the skills I needed as I
went along and build up my business part time to point now
where I only work as a carpenter 2-3 days a week. The rest of
my time is split between building my business and enjoying the
freedom of time and a quality of life I had no idea existed
for people like myself by working from home.
